How to clean or wash a carpet?

An oriental rug can be vacuumed from the first day and as often as you deem appropriate.

As they are hand-knotted carpets, dust and dirt do not pass through the carpet, they are limited to depositing on the surface so this single act of vacuuming will keep the carpet clean. The thicker and smaller the knot, the easier it will be to clean.

Although some people decide to clean their carpets themselves at home or in a patio, for a deeper cleaning it is always recommended to contact a specialized oriental carpet cleaning service, although this will have an economic cost it will always be worth it since it will be a job done by a specialized service with a guarantee, taking into account above all that they do not have to be washed every year but, at the earliest, every five or ten years. It is preferable NOT to send them to the usual dry cleaner since they do not carry out this work and limit themselves to subcontracting this service to third parties. It should also be noted that this deep cleansing should NOT be done every year but rather every few years (from five to ten years). They should never be cleaned with ammonia, as it is an abrasive and aggressive material for the carpet, by washing it with ammonia we are “burning” the inner skeleton of the piece. Nor should we shake them because by doing so we are also gradually breaking their inner skeleton.
